Tasting Note: The grapes for this wine were selected from two vineyards sited over sandy and stony free-draining soils.
On receival at the winery, they were destemmed, crushed and then cold macerated before primary fermentation. The wine was aged for 12 months in one and two year old French oak barriques and bottled on 12th October 2005.
This striking wine is deeply coloured, with substantial body and concentrated flavours of plums, berries and spice. It has the richness and structure to mature gracefully, but is already highly enjoyable.
