Reserve Pinot Noir 2006
Vintage: 2006 Tasting Note: The grapes for this wine were grown on vines of the superior Dijon clones and hand-picked in two parcels on 27th and 30th of March 2006 at an average 24.2 brix. The wine was 100% barrel fermented in (20% new and 80% one year old) French oak integrales, then aged for eleven months in French barriques with regular lees stirring for enhanced complexity. Bottling under screwcap took place on 3rd of April 2007. This stylish deep ruby Pinot Noir offers a complex array of black cherry, plum and ripe strawberry flavours with leather, mushroom and forest floor undertones and hints of dried herbs and spices. Finely balanced on a backbone of ripe supple tannins and spicy oak, this delicious wine offers excellent weight and lingers to a dry, spicy, smooth finish. | |
